Last week was a whirlwind of new experiences, including a book signing and an author’s fair!
On Thursday, January 23, I had the pleasure of visiting with the Sun City Golden Girls for Quick and Quinn’s first-ever event. Hosted by the lovely Paula, the Golden Girls were invited to swing by the Open House for delectable refreshments, engaging conversation, and personalized book signings between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00, with chapter readings scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Perhaps some attended for the yummies…

Although there was no denying that the conversations were riveting!

I am honored to say that I signed 22 books that afternoon.

My very favorite part, though, had to be the chapter readings with the Q&A session that followed. It felt incredibly surreal to have other people listening to the words of Quick and Quinn, to see on their faces how the initial chapters were already affecting them, and to hear the questions of interest afterwards! I’m still not sure I have the words to describe the experience.

Thank you, Golden Girls, for having me, and a special thanks to Paula!

It was then time to prepare for the next adventure. I continued to pinch myself all the way through Saturday, January 25, when I attended the Author’s Fair at Clark County Library. Seated at a table alongside dozens of other writers, I was able to make connections, swap stories, and share the journey of our beloved characters with passersby. I had a particularly meaningful conversation with a young man who ended up being the first stranger -now friend!- to purchase an autographed copy. It was truly a moment I will never forget. (If you know me at all, surely it won’t surprise you that I almost started crying on the spot!)

So what’s next? I’m tossing the book out to more reviewers, trying to build my Instagram platform, and working on marketing through local places. Upcoming events at bookstores are making their way onto the calendar, and I even have two podcasts lined up for March! Stay tuned!
Anything you can do? Yes! Please, if you feel comfortable and so inclined, post something on social media and/or leave a review on Amazon, Barnes, Goodreads, etc. That would be spectacular!
Oh, and one last thing… We will be celebrating Quick’s birthday next week with a MERCHANDISE GIVEAWAY! Be sure to participate!
Perpetually grateful,
